Phacoemulsification Fellowship Program

Phacoemulsification is the most advanced technique for cataract surgery. This short-term program offers ophthalmologists hands-on training under senior surgeons.
- Eligibility: DO/MS/DNB passed, with prior SICS exposure preferred
- Duration: 1 month (new batch starts 1st of every month)
- Includes OPD, lab work, OT protocols, post-op care, case discussions
- Video Assisted Skill Transfer (VAST) review system

Programs Offered
1.Optometry Internship Program
For: Final-year optometry students / graduates
Focus Areas:
- Comprehensive vision testing
- Refraction and prescription analysis
- Ocular disease screening
- Use of diagnostic equipment (slit lamp, autorefractor, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must be:
- Enrolled in or a graduate of a recognized Optometry program (B.Optom or equivalent)
2.Ophthalmic Assistant Training
Focus Areas:
- Patient Intake & History Taking: Understanding patient complaints and recording medical/ocular history.
- Visual Acuity & Vision Testing: Performing Snellen chart readings, near vision tests, and pinhole assessments.
- Ophthalmic Instrument Use: Training on devices such as Autorefractor, Slit Lamp Biomicroscope, Tonometer, Lensometer.
- Assisting in Procedures: Supporting ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, injections, and laser treatments.
Eligibility:
- Minimum education: [12th Grade / Equivalent]
3.Vision Technician Program
Focus Areas:
- Clinical Skills
- Vision screening (distance & near acuity tests)
- Use of tools like autorefractor, retinoscope, trial set.
- Refraction
- Basic ocular health screening
- Diagnostic Assistance
- Slit lamp operation
- Fundus photography
- Visual field testing
- Color vision and contrast sensitivity tests
- Optical Dispensing
- Interpreting prescriptions
- Lens types, coatings, and materials
- Frame selection, fitting, and adjustment
- Basic lens edging and fitting
